Balcony Renovation

Venetian Iron Design Inc. built this project from the first drawing to the last fixing. Every length was measured on site, forged in our own shop and finished by hand, so the railing follows the building rather than the building accommodating the railing.

The brief asked for something that would read as part of the architecture and stand up to a Canadian winter. Wrought iron gives the line and the strength; the finish is a two-coat system chosen for the exposure this elevation gets.

Installation was staged around the site’s own schedule so the trades following us were never held up. The result is what we are asked for most often: a railing that looks as though it could not have been anything else.
